The language of the body is our first language.
Before we had words, our bodies knew how to feel, respond and express. They carry our stories, the memories, emotions, and experiences that have shaped who we are today.
The word somatic comes from the Ancient Greek sōmatikós, meaning “of the body.” Somatic coaching is a body-first approach, bringing mind and body into alignment to create space for deep awareness, embodied change and lasting transformation.
Grounded in evidence-based principles, this work integrates insights from neuroscience, Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory, Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing®and contemporary trauma research - all showing how our nervous system and body profoundly shape our thoughts, emotions, and behaviour.
By working with the body, rather than against it, somatic coaching supports sustainable, integrated change, helping you release what no longer serves, expand your capacity for joy and ease, and come home to the wholeness that’s always been within.
What to expect…
Each session is a gentle, collaborative exploration of what’s happening in your inner and outer world. Together, we bring attention to your body’s language - sensations, emotions, tension and impulses. All subtle doorways into deeper self-understanding.
You’ll be guided to notice what’s present and reconnect with your body’s innate wisdom. This might include grounding practices, breathwork, somatic inquiry, gentle movement, or sound - always at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you.
While nervous system regulation is a key part of our work, I believe you can’t regulate yourself out of a misaligned life. True alignment happens when your inner world and outer choices are in harmony. That’s why a foundational part of my work is helping you identify your core values - what truly matters to you at this season of life and supporting you in aligning your actions with those values.
Beyond cognitive insight and mindset work, we engage your entire system; mind, body and nervous system, allowing lasting shifts to occur on a physiological as well as emotional level.
Every session is held in a safe, compassionate space where all parts of you are welcome. My intention is always to help you feel more resourced and at home within yourself, not just during our sessions, but in your everyday life.
